How much does calorie intake count?
You know, it really doesn't take rocket science to know that if you intake (eat/drink) more calories than your body will use and burn off, you won't loose any weight. Therefore, you will obviously gain extra pounds if you continue the same lifestyle.
Calorie consumption and your body's metabolism are likely the culprit of the majority of people who have excess weight issues. To loose weight, you need to speed up your metabolism. Speed up your metabolism by becoming more physically active. At the same time, you need to get your daily calorie count in order too.
Make a plan. Start by replacing carbonated sodas with water. Water is better for your body and it contains no calories. Eliminate things like ice cream, all of those fancy coffee drinks and soda pop, or make them only an ocassional treat, at most. Cut back on the sugar and fats in your diet.
Watch your portions! You don't have to fill up that plate, and you certainly should not go back for seconds. Say no thank you to dessert, unless it's fresh fruit. Cut back on those calories starting right now, but be sure to get enough of your calorie needs.
A good guide for basic nutritional needs can be found from the U. S. Department of Agriculture. It's called the 2010 Dietary Guidelines for Americans. These guidelines help you choose a well-rounded healthy diet.
Did you know... in order to loose a single pound of weight, you must burn 3500 calories? It's true.
3500 calories divided by 7 days (a week) = 500 calories per day you must burn (per each pound).
Let's say you'd like to lose 30 pounds. At a safe rate of 2 pounds per week, that would mean you need to burn an additional 1000 calories per day for 15 weeks to meet your goal. You burn those calories with physical exercise.
Add exercise into your daily schedule. Eat a healthy, calorie controlled diet. Be determined and conciencious to drop that excess weight. Change your lifestyle and meet your goal. You'll be glad you did.
